Outdoor Activities
Car Rallying
Ok petrol heads heres what you've been looking for, an opportunity to show the rest of
us why car rallying is such a good team sport. Actually a team rally is great way to
develop communication, trust & decision making skills. The rally involves each team making
their way from a start to finish point, during which navigating, time keeping & other tasks are
undertaken to challenge the group. A few surprises along the way help to liken the activity
to the real work situation
Surfing Lessons
Reward your team with the quintessential Australian experience. Surf lessons develop group
cohesion & trust. Participants learn safety, ocean awareness, surfing etiquette and the
skills in catching waves! and have the chance to develop new skills with their colleagues.
No surfing experience is necessary, creates a positive memory
Corporate Sailing
Take to the blue water & rejuvenate in the salt air as your team learns to navigate & sail,
moving portside and starboard side becomes second nature by the end of the session.
Just like charting a course of action in business, sailing a boat requires the organisation of effort
& force to create the desired result. Its easy to be taken by the wind, but as in business
more skill, effort and understanding is required to change course and or move into the wind.
The opportunity to sit back and enjoy a hard earned meal as your team reflects on their
experience rounds off the day. Different levels of activity are available.
Amazing Races
This team building activity is ideal for the office bound as it allows an exploration of
the environment of your choice. Works well as a break out from a standard day at
work (there is a lot to discover & rediscover in our own backyard) & equally well
when offsite at a conference.
Inspired by the popular TV series, the amazing race has teams race against each other
& the clock to complete tasks, solve riddles, pick up clues & reach their final destination.
Allows groups opportunities to develop efficient communication skills, creative thinking,
perseverance & camaraderie.
Paintball
Teams are given an objective such as capturing the opposition’s flag whilst still protecting their flag. In
order to achieve this they need to devise and execute a strategy whilst under the direct pressure of the
opposition. Paintball whilst not for everyone can provide valuable insights into participant’s ability to think
clearly under stress, great for developing team trust.
Sandy Team Building
The great Aussie tradition of heading to beach and building castles, do you think your team can design
create and photograph a sand structure that embodies your companies ethos? Onsite & offsite many
themes to choose from depending upon desired outcomes.
Ropes Courses
The use of ropes courses for training is said to date back to ancient times where
soldiers used obstacle courses as part of their training
Whilst the extremely physically challenging versions are still available, there are less
daunting but still challenging variations for people of all fitness levels e.g. Low
on the ground or very close to) or High (typically telegraph pole height - with a safety
harness or belay)
With most peoples jobs requiring them to be basically sedentary an outdoors team
building activity that challenges the brain & body is a wise option. During 'ropes course'
based events obstacles and risk are confronted and managed by the group.
Skills in planning and effective communication are also developed.
Treasure Hunt
In the same vein as the amazing race, teams collaborate to solve problems, and pick up the clues as
they race to reach their destination as efficiently as possible. As with most activities in work & life
the way the journey is undertaken is where the skills and the team development occurs.
Suitable for different levels of fitness, however opportunities for real team development lies in
the recognition that everyone has different areas of strength & development – who knows what
problem will require what strengths?
Beach Olympics
Remember Bondi beach during the Sydney Olympics - well the Olympics are back at the
beach! This is your companies turn to enjoy 'The Team Building Games' at the beach!
With activities of a physical nature & not so physical nature, you will be challenged,
inspired & made to laugh. Beat the tide; lower the totem, sculpture in the sand & many
fun rewarding activities. Skills & ethos's such as, taking decisive action, supporting colleagues,
sharing the load & communication are developed.
Dragon Boat Racing
Motivate & energise your team with the Dragon Boat Challenge.
Share the goal as you paddle to the rhythm of the drummer, with a crew of 20
people a refined sense of timing is imperative to each teams success
Dragon Boats are basically a very large canoe, with a sweep (rudder) that is controlled
by the steersman, a drummer to keep the paddling in time & a crew of up to 20
people depending on the size of the boat.
